The community stadium at Tauranga Domain will now be built in two stages. Budget constraints were caused by the need for City Council to provide water infrastructure beyond 2026. Stage 1 of the stadium included 5500 new seats, new community spaces and a cafe. One of the buildings would also be repurposed for the University of Waikato sports science faculty.
