Gov. Roy Cooper signed the state’s sports betting bill into law in June 2023. The North Carolina Lottery Commission effectively launched sports betting in the state in less than six months. Eight North Carolina Sportsbooks Open for Business Nine operators submitted sports betting license applications. Each operator was required to partner with a professional sports franchise, arena, PGA course, or NASCAR track to submit a sports betting operator application to the commission.
