Conor Glass, 26, blithely recalled himself playing a Hogan Cup final for St Pat’s Maghera when he was 15 after being tagged on to the squad as a sub keeper and winning the final by ten points. The AFL club Hawthorn had someone in the crowd watching him that day. A year later, Glass was in Australia trying out the life for a couple of weeks.
