North Carolina lottery officials project bettors to wager around $600 million within the first month of legalized sports betting. After the winners’ payouts and the book operators’ share, state officials estimate they may collect about $7.7 million in tax revenue from that single week. In response, NCAA officials said they plan to lobby state legislatures to ban prop bets at the college level.
