Mike Looper is head of the animal science department, overseeing land-grant extension, research and teaching, with appointments within the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. The honor was bestowed recently, during the society section's annual meeting in Louisville, Ky. Looper was raised on an Arkansas dairy/beef farm now run by the fifth generation of his family.
