The Universal Zetetic Society was a nineteenth-century anti-science society established by Lady Blount. She was the youngest daughter of James Zacharias Williams, a well-to-do architect and land surveyor in South London. When she was 23 years old, she married Sir Walter de Sodington Blounet Bt who was 18 years her senior.
