PNNL enables cutting-edge technologies, from lightweight cars to high-capacity batteries and durable spacecraft. A new artificial intelligence (AI) model can identify patterns in electron microscope images of materials without human intervention, allowing for more accurate and consistent materials science. It also removes a barrier for autonomous experimentation on electron microscopes.
