Dr. Kirstie Tanberg Francis is one of Mote’s new class of post-doctoral fellows. They are matched with seasoned scientists to help guide them as they develop new programs and products to benefit people and the environment. Dr. Francis said the oceans make up more than 70 percent of earth’s surface, and are home to more than 2.2 million marine species.
