In the last 10 years, the number of students in information science has grown 524 percent, according to data from Cornell Institutional Research and Planning. However, students have felt the department’s growing pains, struggling to enroll in core courses and access help in overflowing office hours. In the 2022-23 academic year, just two core courses could have been fulfilled in the spring, compared to all five in the fall semester.
