The total solar eclipse will take place on 8 April 2024. It will be visible across Mexico, the US and eastern Canada. You’ll get the best view – and the longest duration of totality – the closer you are to the centre of the solar eclipse. This is because the Moon passes in front of the Sun and casts a shadow onto the Earth.
