Elephant seals are great divers: they can dive as deep as 6,560 feet (2,000 meters) Each time the seals surface, the device connects with the satellite, the data they’ve collected is triangulated, and the scientists can review it on a web page. The researchers are also looking to get more information about the area, known as the Almirantazgo Fjord, west of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego.
