Alberta’s Minister of Advanced Education Rajan Sawhney announced a commitment of $55 million over three years to build the seven-floor structure. The university’s science dean said the building would be designed to encourage multidisciplinary collaboration, have incubator space, and allow industry to come in and work alongside the researchers.
