South Korea attracted 606,000 foreign national patients in 2023. This is the highest ever since 2009 when the ministry started to compile the number of foreign patients. The figure has been declining since the outbreak of COVID-19. Over half of foreign nation patients sought dermatology or plastic surgery. Japanese nationals topped the list of patients of foreign nationality.
