Screen Time and Early Language Development

The Australian Financial Review

Study tracked 220 Australian families over 212 years to measure relationship between family screen use and children’s language environment. Children aged between 12 and 36 months wore Fitbit-like devices that counted words and captured both electronic noise and parent-child talk surrounding the children. Participating families did not know screen time was to be measured, and their consent was sought afterwards.
