The COVID-19 pandemic would eventually subside, but the unhealthiness of rural Southern North Carolina was here to stay. The SERVIRE project has worked with more than 35 businesses across eastern North Carolina, having engaged nearly 1,400 workers at job sites ranging from a water faucet manufacturer in New Bern to a metal fabrication shop in Ahoskie.
