In a recent cross-sectional study published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition, researchers used data from 266 participants along the cognitive impairment spectrum to investigate the association between nutrition and cognitive decline. Their study reveals that nutrition-related variables such as body composition and dietary patterns are significantly associated with the onset and progression of Alzheimer's disease (AD), with malnutrition substantially increasing AD risk. An unfortunate side-effect of this achievement, however, is a slowly aging world.
