Sleep and health are intimately connected, with poor sleep linked to a greater chance of developing obesity, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and anxiety. The study included over 15,000 retired workers from China who completed questionnaires and had medical examinations about five years apart. Even people with “favorable” sleep patterns at either point in time were less likely to have a cardiovascular disease event.
