McHenry County Voters Approve 0.25% Sales Tax to Fund Mental Health Services

McHenry County voters have approved a new 0.25% local sales tax meant for mental health services in the county. Officials estimate that the tax would bring in about $13 million of revenue annually. The Mental Health Board originally asked for a $2.5 million increase in its portion of county property tax levy.
