In January, more than 11,000 people marched in Limerick against hospital overcrowding. Junior Franklin, owner of Franklin’s Shoe Store, said he thought it would be like the ‘grey army’ protests against pension changes in 2008 which did bring change. Instead, numbers of patients on trolleys continue to rise, reaching 143 last Monday.
