Federal regulators launched a probe into the role of private equity in the health-care industry. As many as 25 percent of physician practices across the country are in severe financial distress, CEO Farzad Mostashari said in an interview with The Post on Tuesday. The AMA urges federal officials to go above and beyond what has been put in place and include financial assistance such as advanced payments for physicians.
