The study revealed that extended deployment to bases utilizing open burn Pits is linked to slightly increased odds of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, ischemic stroke, and hypertension. This suggests potential adverse health outcomes linked to environmental factors while serving in the military.
