DC Health moved its headquarters and more than 600 workers from North Capitol Street to a new office building in historic Anacostia this week . The move is part of Mayor Muriel E. Bowser’s strategy to confront worsening inequities that have left residents in Wards 7 and 8, which are predominantly Black, with poor access to doctors, good-paying jobs and quality affordable housing . DC Health does focus on making federal dollars work for city residents, funding nonprofits and community groups working with people who need public health
