State Parties to the IHR took a major step towards agreeing on the package of amendments which will be put forward to the World Health Assembly. The amendments, proposed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, will be further discussed at the resumed eighth meeting on 16-17 May. Countries are grasping this historic opportunity to protect future generations from the impact of epidemics.
