LDI Senior fellow Dolores Albarracn and colleagues assessed U.S. communication efforts during COVID-19 and offered 17 recommendations for effective communication. Communicate policies actively or they won’t be used. Use analogies and metaphors that all groups can grasp. To be effective, information must be clear, concrete, and complete so the public can build a mental model.
