There are 3,844 Ayush hospitals across the country run by central and state governments. The “essential” number of beds may be provided through the public health system such as medical colleges, district hospitals, 10-bedded, 30-bedded and 50 or more bedded. As a thumb rule, all beds available and functional for a patient for more than 24 hours have been calculated as in-patient hospital beds.
