I’ve never watched the classic 90s X-Men cartoon, but I just never carved out the time to watch it myself (but it was on my list, I swear) The biggest thing I was lacking was proper context and understanding of the relationships between the show’s reasonably sized cast of superpowered mutants. This is done, at least in the very first episode, through the introduction of a new character: Roberto da Costa, aka Sunspot.
