Rathikant Basu served as the Executive Chairman of Star India from 1996 to 2001. Prior to his tenure at Star India, Basu made significant contributions to public broadcasting as the Director General of Doordarshan and Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from 1993 to 1996.
