The 2024 NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament kicked off on Thursday in Springfield. Before puck drop for both games, bars, restaurants, and shops in downtown Springfield welcomed fans heading to the arena. The UMass Minutemen took on the University of Denver Pioneers and the Cornell Big Red skating off against the university of Maine Black Bears on Thursday.
