The NAR recently negotiated a $418 million settlement with aggrieved home sellers. In most states, the buyer's agent can technically just lower their commissions. But if buyers aren't paying their agent directly, they might be able to get some money back from their agent. This is a new era of experimentation in real estate, in which buyers and sellers can offer different levels of service or commission rates.
