The Port of Auckland is already at capacity and its bid to expand into the harbour has been rejected by the Environment Court. It’s struggling to make ends meet since the Government repealed the water reform legislation, dumping the cost of fixing the pipes back on councils. But privatising the port would be a bad call that would end up costing Auckland businesses more in the long-run.
