Lancaster County’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has remained under 3% since August, reaching a historic low of 2.3% in November. Over the month, there were seasonal changes in government (up 800) and education & health services (up 700) jobs as winter break ended at local educational institutions. Education and health services is the largest employment sector in county’s economy.
