The International Monetary Fund (IMF) suggested devising a temporary tax on the highest incomes to finance the burden of the pandemic. The U.S. economy, the world’s largest, recently proposed a heavier taxation of the highest net worth Americans. This grew by 7% between 2022 and 2023, to more than $12 trillion, according to the latest Billionaire Ambitions Report.
