A passerby made the discovery shortly after 10 a.m. at 6233 Blocton Ave., an area in Birmingham near Bessemer, Brighton, Midfield and Lipscomb. Officer Truman Fitzgerald said officers received a call of a person down outside a place that appears to be a restaurant or a club. The victim sustained obvious trauma, but Fitzgerald said it was too soon to tell if he had been shot, stabbed or beaten.
