A survey of 500 chemists by the National Pharmacies Association (NPA) also found 85% often make a loss on providing NHS prescriptions. Some 64% are dipping into their own savings or relying on support from family to keep the doors open. It comes after research for the Pharmaceutical Journal found more than a fifth of pharmacies have cut opening hours since 2022.
