Karen Courchene is one of about 550 Peguis community members who are still unable to return to their homes after the 2022 flood. She has been living in an apartment for about a year and a half with one of her daughters. Indigenous Services Canada has filed a $1-billion lawsuit against the federal and provincial governments.
