The Economic Policy Institute produces a Family Budget Calculator each year. This year’s calculator indicates that Leelanau County has the highest food cost of the more than 3,000 counties in the country. Other top counties for food costs included New York County, NY (Manhattan), Maui County and Marin County in California.
