Anne McCarthy is a research microbiologist on the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory. She is working on her project, "Insect antennae for odorant-driven real-time decision processing,'quot; which basically means their antennae will help identify and sense chemicals in an area. They don't bug her too much, but they do offer the occasional hiss.
