The agreement, called Gaayhllxid Gihlagalgang "Rising Tide', officially recognizes and affirms the nation's right over the land of Haida Gwaii under Section 35 of the Constitution. The agreement sets out a new set of rules for how land will be governed. It will allow for a shift in land management that will not come into conflict with provincial laws, said Gaagwiis.
