Online sports betting begins in North Carolina on March 11, coordinated no doubt to allow for betting on this year’s ACC basketball tournament. Bettors aged 21 and up can place money in an account and begin making wagers via mobile devices only. The N.C. Lottery Commission has already approved seven applications from sports betting operators with other applications still pending. EA Sports began reaching out to college football players in February to pay them to be featured in the game that’s scheduled to launch this summer. Players who opt in to the game will receive a minimum of $600 and a copy of EA Sport College Football 25. There will also be opportunities for them to earn money by promoting the game. EA sports has been working on its new game since at least 2021.
