Akash Grewal, Lucy Borowski and Erika Vermette each recorded double digit kills to lead the No. 2 seed, the UBC Thunderbirds, to a 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23) victory over the Alberta Pandas in the gold medal match of the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship on Sunday night.

Concordia Stingers beat the Toronto Varsity Blues 3-1 in the final of the U Sports women’s hockey championship on Sunday night. It is the team’s fourth U Sports Women’s Hockey championship win in team history. Last year, the Stinger left-winger Emilie Lussier tucked home a rebound of her own shot at the left side of the goal.
