MIT Space Exploration Initiative - The MAPP Rover
MIT Space Exploration Initiative is preparing its follow-up mission, IM-2, for launch later this year. Aboard the craft will be several NASA payloads, including a drill and mass spectrometer. There will also be a rover called the Mobile Autonomous Prospecting Platform (MAPP), built by Colorado company Lunar Outpost. The MIT Media Lab is famous for interdisciplinary approach to technology, melding technology and human culture.

Slowing the Aging Process in Humans
Proteins found in tiny, indestructible tardigrades can be a key ingredient in slowing the aging process in humans, scientists claim. However, it will take more work to show these proteins are a veritable fountain of youth — for now, the researchers have only early hints from lab-dish experiments. For the study, researchers focused on a protein called CAHS D, which transforms into a gel-like consistency when introduced to human cells.

In the early days, Nairobi has exhibited spatial patterns that reflect divisions based on social class. This urban segregation is evident in terms of spatial and economic deprivation44. Slums, where 60% of urban residents reside, are concentrated in a mere 4% of the total built-up area. In contrast, the central localities, where most of the slums are predominantly occupied by low- and middle-income groups.
