The Science of Reading Boosts Reading
The Knowledge Gap championed knowledge-building curricula and more schools around the country, from Baltimore to Michigan to Colorado, are adopting these content-filled lesson plans to teach geography, astronomy and even art history. In 2023, University of Virginia researchers promoted a study of Colorado charter schools that had adopted E.D. Hirsch’s Core Knowledge curriculum. More importantly, the students at these charter schools were largely from middle and upper middle class families.

COVID - The American Rescue Plan
In January 2023, President Joe Biden's National Science Foundation (NSF) has spent millions of dollars on grants funded by the American Rescue Plan. The grants have nothing to do with COVID, but they do fund studies on climate change. One July 2023 grant, for example, funded a $246,000 Amherst College study meant to "deepen our understanding of how floodplains have responded to... climatic changes'

Climate action through sustainable development is the need of the hour because the climate crisis is on the verge of becoming unmanageable. The Royal Institute of Chemistry is the largest national provider of science shows for schools and boasts a wealth of experience in making science for students engaging and fun. Pupils from years 7 and 8 experienced two shows throughout the day that were jampacked with experiments, explosions, and hands on participation by the students. A third show was put on for the local community to enjoy in the evening.
