Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder - Can Fluoxetine Prevent Fear?
In people with post-traumatic stress disorder, this dread often reappears even when there is no longer a threat. In the future, this could be the basis for a drug therapy against fear. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego studied the parts of the brain involved in this state. They found that after acute stress, certain nerve cells in the dorsal region of the raphe change the molecules they use to send signals to other nerve cells.
