Apophis T-5 Years: Knowledge Opportunity for the Science of Planetary Defense
In 2029, Apophis – believed to be one of the most hazardous to Earth when it was first discovered in 2004 – will come within 32,000 kilometers (20,000 miles) of the Earth's surface. The asteroid should be visible from the Eastern Hemisphere without the aid of a telescope or binoculars. NASA already has one visit planned, dubbed OSIRIS APEX. This maneuver will allow scientists on Earth to observe these changes.

The Red Tide Effects on Pacific Sardines
study co-author and biological oceanographer Lillian McCormick analyzed data from 11 oceanographic sensor packages deployed on moorings off the coast of San Diego. These sensors were deployed at various depths, ranging from 1.5 meters (5 feet) to approximately 100 meters (328 feet) Shallower waters bore the brunt of the red tide impacts, experiencing prolonged periods of hypoxia. Construction near Los Peasquitos Lagoon led to the complete closure of the lagoon to the open ocean.

GMs and HUA
The genus Collinsella and Lachnospiraceae FCS020 group were identified as characteristic bacteria involved in HUA. The presence or absence of HUA can be accurately predicted using general laboratory information and gut bacteria data. There are currently no reports of Collinsella spp. increasing or decreasing in subjects with HUA or affecting serum UA levels.

The Search for Extraterrestrial Life
Mars The eternal mystery of whether microbial life exists on Mars was left unanswered in 1976 by the Viking probes, which produced confusing results. Since then, other missions have attempted to determine whether the components necessary for life as we understand it are present on Mars. In 2011, what appeared to be seasonal flows of brine were detected trickling down the Martian slopes, but subsequent studies have concluded that this was probably just dry sand. The main reason is the presence of a large liquid lake beneath the ice at
