Hendrix College Receives $2,500,000 Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
Grant will provide up to $15,000 in scholarships annually to students from economically limited backgrounds to pursue degrees in STEM fields at Hendrix. As part of the program, students will have the opportunity to engage in a structured learning community that builds lifelong connections and will receive summer stipends to pursue research and internships. Students from Mansfield Elementary had four hours of fun learning in the same state-of-the-art classrooms as physics undergraduates Copy Link The Department of Physics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences hosted more than 100 second graders on March 12. Physicist Announces New Article in Nature Materials
Trinanjan Datta, PhD, professor of physics in the College of Science and Mathematics’ Department of Physics and Biophysics, was recently published in npj Quantum Materials. Datta’s research featured in the article focuses on the chirality (structures whose images cannot be placed on top of each other, like left and right hands) of molecules and crystal structures and how it affects their magnetic properties.

Kentucky Science Center Offers Special Events For the upcoming Solar Eclipse
The Kentucky Science Center will host a special event for the upcoming solar eclipse at their Main Street location. The eclipse event will offer special activities free with admission on April 8 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p, and a limited number of eclipse glasses will also be distributed free. Activities include educational programming about the eclipse, eclipse-viewing safety, the principles of gravity, different cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations.
