Doctors warn of a Rise in Patients With Poor Health
55% of doctors said they are seeing more patients with problems relating to or made worse by wider determinants of health. Illness caused by socio-economic factors including poor housing, lack of access to healthy food, smoking and obesity is now significantly contributing to the workload of physicians in the UK. This often impacts the most deprived communities, exacerbating health inequalities and placing ‘significant and avoidable’ demand on the NHS, the Colleges said.

We used coral primary polyps produced from gametes during coral spawning. Metabolite information was obtained for seven zooxanthella-free polyops in the control group, four BP-exposed polyops (Table S1), and for four holobionts in the controls and six experimental groups. The variation in the number of data acquired may be due to the somewhat larger size of the holes in the plate (Fig. S1)
