Women's Leadership in the Regional Health Agenda
In Latin America and the Caribbean, half of doctors and over 80% of nursing staff are women (IDB, 2019), a key workforce in healthcare. Women only hold between 8 and 25% of leadership positions in hospital institutions. Overall, women participate less in health decision-making, which obscures specific needs and those of the people under their care.

Serving in Strength: Health and Wellness Series

Penn State Health Medical Group - Millersville
Penn State Health partnered with Student Lodging Inc. to build a new outpatient clinic near Millersville University to serve the Millersville community and the surrounding region. Today students, faculty and staff will be able to access primary care through a separate, dedicated entrance. The new, 11,000 square-foot building features 19 exam rooms, two specialty treatment rooms, ample parking and a student health suite.

Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit Warning Over Drug Poisonings
Leeds, Grenville and Lanark region reported 21 emergency room visits for overdoses in the last two weeks, double the number of visits for drug-poisonings normally seen. LGLDHU health dashboard shows there have been 3 suspected overdose deaths in the region so far this year. In the first eight weeks of 2024, 49 people died in the City of Ottawa.

Health Canada and the Government of Canada - Three Agreements to Improve Health Care in the Yukon
