Leaders at Clinicians of Color in Private Practice, a Facebook group of over 22,000 members, say many members are facing tough financial decisions. Some members say they may have to stop accepting insurance.

Bounce Back From Cancer
The Miami Heat and Baptist Health Foundation teamed up this weekend for the annual Bounce Back from Cancer fundraiser. Dozens of participants dribbled a ball for two miles to the finish line at the Kaseya Center in downtown Miami on Saturday. Former Heat captain Udonis Haslem led the way for an important cause.

Rural emergency hospitals receive more than $3 million in federal funding a year and higher Medicare reimbursements in exchange for closing all inpatient beds and providing 24/7 emergency care. In some communities where hospitals have converted to the new designation, residents are confused about what kind of care they can receive. The government, which classifies hospitals by type, rolled out the rural emergency hospital in January 2023.

Links Incorporated held a Black Family Wellness Expo at the Family Scholar House in Old Louisville. They had doctors from Norton Healthcare and representatives from groups like AARP to talk about health issues that disproportionately impact African Americans. It was their second year holding the event.
