Manitoba Health Cards to Replace Paper Ones
The move is part of the upcoming provincial budget to be announced on Tuesday, and will include plastic and digital options to replace the existing paper health card. Work on the design of the new card will begin this year. Kinew says his own health card is in bad shape. You can't really see the Manitoba logo.

Draft Federal Health IT Strategic Plan
Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released the draft Wednesday. ONC said it collaborated on the plan with 25 federal agencies that interact with health IT through purchasing, developing and regulating. The federal government plans to encourage “education, outreach and transparency” about artificial intelligence use.

Chronic diseases have emerged as major public health challenges in modern society [26, 27]. A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted using a large random sample to investigate the self-reported prevalence of common chronic diseases among adults in Ganzhou, a city in southern China. This data is even higher than other studies reporting the prevalence of chronic diseases in the middle-aged and elderly (44.27%) Most residents reported that their health was relatively good (44.6%) or moderate (42.1%)

The Family of Ryan Corbett, an American humanitarian in Afghanistan, Says "Disturbing" Phone Call
Ryan Corbett, 40, has been imprisoned without charge by Afghanistan's Taliban rulers since August 2022. The family, who live in New York, said Ryan told them on the call that he suffered from "high fevers last week that went undiagnosed. Anna and her three children have had just five short phone calls from Ryan, totalling 44 minutes, since he was detained in Afghanistan by the Taliban.
