Oregon's Medicaid expansion is a first-in-the-nation experiment to address climate change
Oregon is shipping air conditioners, air filters and power banks to some of its most vulnerable residents. The equipment, which started going out in March, expands a Biden administration strategy to move Medicaid beyond traditional medical care and into the realm of social services. At least 20 states, including California, Massachusetts and Washington, already direct billions of Medicaid dollars into programs such as helping homeless people get housing and preparing healthy meals for people with diabetes.

COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy
In Colorado, 84 people were hospitalized with COVID as of April 23, according to the state health department’s dashboard. And just under 500 cases were reported that week, down 35 from the previous week. Dogs Picture the Word 'Ball' in Their Heads
Scientists recruited 18 dogs for the study and used a non-invasive technique to measure electrical activity in their brains. The study was published last month in the science journal Current Biology. It claims that dogs create a mental image of objects that we say, suggesting a deeper grasp of language similar to humans. Scientists say the findings are further proof that an ability called referential understanding isn’t just unique to humans.
